Pointless and Stupid

I want to write about something I've been thinking about, and I sincerely hope its school appropriate enough. So as a disclaimer, in case I dont make it clear, I did not drink and I do not advocate it. This weekend, my friend's parents were out of town, and when most teens find this out, they automatically think "Ragger!" and begin to make plans for a huge party filled with alcohol. But why? What on earth is so great about getting drunk? I now understand why drinking is illegal for minors. It's illegal because teens drink to get drunk. We dont go to a social gathering and have a glass or two of wine. We dont kick back at someone's house and have a cold beer while watching tv. We plan huge parties and get wasted. And for what? A killer hangover the next morning? Having a fun time but not remembering any of it? We go around and ask why adults dont trust us and why they treat us like we cant handle ourselves. Well no wonder they think we're so immature, we CAN'T handle ourselves. It's ridiculous. The people in high school are rediculous. High school is ridiculous. And now the weed. What on earth is everyone's obsession with smoking marjiuana? It just looks like dried up geese droppings to me. It smells terrible. People act absolutely idiotic when they smoke it. And as much as people say, "it's not addictive," I dont believe it. Anything can be addictive, maybe not physically, but you can bcome mentally addicted to anything. I have a friend who isn't the highest acheiver. He got held back a year and now that he has graduated he isn't in college, he is working at a auto mechanics center part-time and drives a moped. He is high more often than not, and when he has to go a week without it, he is a changed person: always grumpy, constantly complaining, barely has fun doing anything. So what, may I ask, is so great about smoking, if once you start, you dont have any fun doing anything else? I'm ranting. This topic is getting me worked up. Drugs and Alcohol are Pointless and Stupid.
